Finished 6th Grade PotterySixth grade students have completed their fantastic coil pots. Students set a goal to improve forming coils or attaching coils. This is not an easy task by any means. However, many students shared that they were more skilled at coil pots than pinch pots.

7th Grade Clay AnimalsStudents are working hard to complete their animals before the clay dries out. Looking good so far!
Coil PotsSixth grade students are furiously working on their coil pots and they are due on Wednesday. We will be doing some final smoothing with slip on the inside to be sure all the coils stay together. Enjoy the pictures of these fantastic projects!

6th Grade The first project for sixth graders is pinch pots. Students select patterns or symbols to connect one pinch pot to the culture of their choice. The next project will be a coil pot. A second project students are also working on is the Zentangle Animal. The project shows their drawing ability in the first few weeks of school. Photos coming soon! | 7th Grade Seventh grade students are utilizing all technique styles while creating the Clay Animal. Students will review slab and coil techniques as well as attaching. New skills include: problem solving technique choice to match their animal details and hand molding. The drawing project student are working on is a Cross-Hatch Tree. Students learn about value, space, and line. Photos coming soon! | 8th Grade Clay pendants are an eight grade favorite! (Who doesn't like clay?) Skills students are learning include: slab, coil, attaching, hand molding, purpose of art media and technique, reflection, evaluation. All skills will be used in the final clay mug project.
