Quarter 3 PotteryQuarter 3 pottery has begun! Students are working on pinch pots, pendants, animals, and will be starting clay mugs. Sixth grade students are learning about details in connection to history as well as working their way around the middle school art room and the tools provided. Eighth graders are discovering their pottery skill strengths and weaknesses to create the best clay mug. Seventh grade students are working on animals and I will update with photos soon.

Quarter 2 Ends with Art Shows, Landscapes, Paintings, and MoreAs the quarter ended yesterday, my heart stopped for just a second. I said goodbye to eighth graders I would never have back in class again and will truly miss the group of students I taught this quarter. We finished out the quarter with our art show. You can see students are viewing and selecting their choice for the best art project in each grade. The winning projects can be view on the Choice Award page. Below is a collection of the skilled student work from the last few weeks in art. You can find many of these finished in the library soon! 6th Grade: Students were furiously working on Op Art and a Contrast painting. 7th Grade: Landscapes filled our time here at the end. They learned about four different styles of art as well as developed techniques that communicated their specific style (Abstract, Impressionist, Realistic, and Folk Art). 8th Grade: Eighth graders were focused on finishing strings for pendants, graphic design, and the hidden color wheel.
