6th & 7th Grade Drawing
Sixth grade students developed drawing and shading skills to create their shoe drawings. To be successful, students needed to focus these skills: drawing slow, clean lines, looking at the objects, and details. While shading their shoes, students became experts in smooth and even values and building up the layers of pencil lines. Finally, students learned to add creative thick and thin lines to add interest to their drawings.
During the seventh grade classes, students applied their knowledge from last year to an arranged still life. More objects adds to the level of difficulty and I think the seventh graders did great!
These students focused on shading skills and learned about shadows, highlights, backlight, and creating a background.
