Animal PotteryStudents in seventh grade have been developing pottery based on animals. Each student planned details around an animal culture or habitat. As students began creating, individuals moved at their own pace and were held accountable for their own design, construction, and skill development. I am so proud of each student!
Final 8th Grade PotteryAs promised, here are the final 8th grade projects. Each student created a theme with a plan for 3 attachments. While creating and constructing, it is natural for plans to not work out. So, students had to problem solve and critically think about how to edit their design while making sure each piece was attached and formed well. Great job to all students!
6th Grade PotterySixth graders are working on pinch and coil techniques to develop a fantastic piece of pottery. Each student is forming each piece with care and ensuring walls are formed with balance. Attaching is a crucial part of clay construction as well. Students are doing a great job on self-reflecting and making edits as they create.
Quarter 2 Pottery Our second quarter is under way and the students are very focused on their clay work. On top of technique, students are especially working on problem solving and critically thinking about their plans vs what they can actually achieve. It is so fun to watch them create and develop ownership through independent learning. Enjoy the photos below! More pictures to come. 8th Grade - Clay Mug
