Quarter 1 Art ShowStudents are working like mad to finish their final project of the quarter. All student selected projects are displayed in the halls and are also showcased on the online art show. Choice Award Winners Our overall winning project was the swan clay animal. All projects are voted on by students. Below you can view my Mrs. Wulf's student's art work for the art show (8th period). During this class period, my students worked on pinch and coil pottery techniques. They also practiced creating patterns and looking for spaces. Space and pattern practice allowed these students to create tons of feathers (also below) for our wonderful interactive wings in the lobby here at DMS.

Here are the final clay mugs. Students always have a great time glazing and it is exciting to see pottery after it has been fired the second time in the kiln. Figure drawing is the most intimidating of all the eighth grade projects. Here you can see students building up the form of the clothing on the figures. In some of the pictures, you can view the structure of the figure the students drew in 2 minutes or less. I think these eighth graders did a fantastic job!
8th Grade Graphic Design T-ShirtsStudents in eighth grade are almost complete with their graphic design t-shirts. The requirements for this project includes the use of unity, balance, and contrast in their heading, phrase, and image.
