Ceramic Pendants
Objectives:
Visual Art: The student will create 4 ceramic pendants using slab, coil, and press techniques.
Literacy: The student will reflect and evaluate final artwork.
Materials:

Visual Art: The student will create 4 ceramic pendants using slab, coil, and press techniques.
Literacy: The student will reflect and evaluate final artwork.
Materials:
- clay tools: mat, clay knife, paper towel, dish of water, rolling pin, wood slats
- 2 sacks with name on tape
- old cookie cutters (if wanted)
Shape:
- Pendant 1: geometric shape (perfect math shapes)
- Pendant 2: free form (non math shapes)
- Pendant 3: coil
- Pendant 4: Attached
- All pendants must include a texture. (coil excluded)
Directions:
Brainstorm- 1. What will your 4 pendants will look like? example -Which patterns will you be creating and pressing? -Which pendant will have the added slab or coil? Get Materials- 2. Get clay and tools Create- 3. Roll slab 4. Create the geometric shape. 5. Create the free form shape. 6. Create the coil pendant. 7. Create the attached pendant. |

Finishing off your pendant with a natural or leather string can either add detail to your project or make your design stand out. Either way you should add a string to finish it off!
