Day of the Dead : Sugar Skulls
Day of the Dead is an interesting holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico during the chilly days of November 1 & 2. Even though this coincides with the Catholic holiday called All Soul's & All Saint’s Day, the indigenous people have combined this with their own ancient beliefs of honoring their deceased loved ones.
Directions:
Step 1:
- Gather materials: practice paper & pencil
- Draw an outline of a skull. Don't shade!
Step 2: Using a pencil, draw in creative detail patterns. These details should be symmetrical.

Step 3: Get final white paper and trace your design or redraw.
Step 4: Using colored pencil, marker, or both begin to add color to your skull.
