It's a new year and time to start another quarter. I'm excited to meet my next set of students and what we can accomplish!
Abstract art was the focus for the last 6th grade project. The students had fun rearranging their portrait to show front and profile views of the face and then simplifying the painted shapes. Students also learned about Frank Big Bear and artwork by Picasso.
Seventh grade students created a visual and literary representation of themselves. Written over their portrait is a quote of their choice that represents a belief.
Students practiced realistic facial drawing and shading skills. They were taught as a group and then allowed to watch a short video independently for reteaching on the realistic portrait webpage.
