The sixth and seventh grade students have started work on pottery, while the eighth graders began with a twist on the color wheel. This next week the eighth grade classes will be starting ceramic pendants.
6th Grade Ceramic pinch pots will be stamped with pattern. Coil pots will be the next adventure for these students. | 7th Grade 7th grade students are beginning work on animal pottery. At this time, students are just creating the body and head from pinch pots. Next week they will create the cylinder with the slab technique. Example below is from first quarter. | 8th Grade The Hidden Color Wheel was the first project for the 8th grade students. They began brainstorming ideas for a ceramic pendants (wearable art) and that will begin next week. This will be an ongoing project for students to go back to when they finish early on other projects. |
