Project OverviewObjective: Student will create their own version of Grant Wood's American Gothic.
Examples: Each of the works above were original designs created to resemble Grant Wood's work.
What the student will do:
1. Brainstorm - Video - To resemble American Gothic you must include: a. theme: 2 matching characters (figures) b. one item to hold (match your theme) c. Gothic window - Requirements: a. 3 resembling pieces of the art b. building in the background with the window (match your theme) c. building - must have a drawn pattern (brick, siding, etc) d. Shading and Blending: -must blend in a major area -use shading skills 2. Draw 2 ideas - 5 minutes - video Practice Paper - Video 3. Draw design on final white paper. 4. Practice shading with colored pencils. a. Blending 2 colors together. -video b. Gradual shading and blending. -video 5. Show Mrs. C your shading practice. 6. Practice shading on your yellow practice. 7. Show Mrs. C. 8. Begin on your final! (You must blend colored pencil in 2 major areas.) Colored Pencil Practice
